CONTEMPORARY OSHI-E: BASIC COURSE
PROJECT #1
LEAF or HEART
Here is where all students begin, learning all the basic steps to create a very simple Contemporary Oshi-e project! Just two sections to assemble in this introduction to "all the things" one needs to know to create successful projects!
Highlights:
Master the techniques as you build your leaf or heart, while gaining confidence in the basic construction.
By the end of this Project, you will have:
- Created a LEAF, with two pieces OR
- Created a HEART, with two pieces
- Come up with ideas to try a second piece on your own, mabe it will be a PIN or an ORNAMENT!
Project #2
LOTUS or IRIS
On to making more complex pieces, using the skills learned in the first Project. Both of these projects require thoughtful fabric selection and placement, making the fabric "work" for you.
Highlights:
Start using that creative side as you consider how to make things beautiful yet understated, allowing the fabric to show movement and add detail.
By the end of this Project, you will have:
- Created a LOTUS, with five pieces, OR
- Created an IRIS, with six (or more) pieces
- Designed your next flower, based upon what you have learned.
